Saat anda mengakses Outlook baik Microsoft Outlook ataupun Outlook Express mungkin anda akan mengalami hal berikut ini dimana muncul pesan error
"Receiving reported error (0x800CCC18) : 'Your e-mail server rejected your login with Secure Password Authentication. Verify your account properties. Under Tools, click E-mail accounts.'"
Atau terkadang juga muncul errornya seperti ini:
"Unable to logon to the server using Distributed Password Authentication.
Account:'Company POP3 Server Accnt.',
Server: 'server.company.com',
Protocol: POP3,
Server Response: '-ERR The AUTH protocol exchange was cancelled by the client.',Port: 110, Secure(SSL): NO, Server

Hal ini terjadi karena anda melakukan ceklist pada “Secure Authentication” di menu setting outlook. Karena itu anda perlu menghapus ceklist tsb (disable).
